Police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi this morning revealed that 55 people had been killed in Kasese after clashes broke out between the Obusinga royal guards and the army. Of these, 14 are security officers. Kaweesi also said that the attackers targeted police stations in all sub-counties of the district.
It’s likely that the death toll could go up after the army stood Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere’s palace and killed other royal guards.
