For many people, the action of backbending doesn’t always come easily and when practiced improperly, can actually lead to pain. These tricks will help you experience backbends throughout your practice with more ease and confidence!
In this video, we’re going over some fundamental actions and rules for a healthy spine that you can apply to all backbends. When backbending, it’s important to have control over what’s happening in different parts of your body, so you’ll learn actions to take in your legs, bum, belly, and more to achieve a deeper backbend safely. We also show you why the easiest way to get into a backbend can actually lead to compression and pain, so you can be more aware of what you’re doing as you practice and avoid common mistakes as you apply our steps.
