This is the 3rd and last part the Red Ant Epic Battle.
Ants have an excellent sense of hygiene, so when one of their own is badly wounded others will proactively take it to the Ant Grave (yes, they do have an ant grave).
So, they don't leave Ant corpses laying around, but when this wounded Ant is still alive it will fight back.
That's the reason behind these Epic Battles.
Furthermore, Fire Ants know what's going on and are hoping to get wounded Ants for themselves since they do feed off of other insects.
