Launched during a hybrid event on 8 June 2023, a summary of the report, IFIs’ Covid-19 lending in South Africa: Context, contentions and policy implications, its findings, and proposals was presented by IEJ Researcher, and report co-author, Kamal Ramburuth.

Facilitated by Lebogang Ramafoko, Executive Director of Oxfam South Africa (launch event co-hosts), discussants in response to the report included:
Dr Ricardo Gottschalk, a senior economist with the United Nations in South Africa, and
Dr Lwandle Mqadi, who oversees Responsible Investments and Sustainability at the Industrial Development Corporation.
