Chhath Puja
is Bihar’s biggest festival. It is an ancient Hindu festival which is dedicated to Lord Surya and Chhathi Maiya (known to be the wife of Surya). It is celebrated in the states of Bihar, Jharkhand, Eastern Uttar Pradesh and the country of Nepal too. This festival is dedicated to the Sun God or Surya bhagwan who is the source of all powers. He is worshipped along with Chhathi Maiya for the well being and prosperity of human beings.
Dates
This four-day festival starts on the 11th of November and ends on 14th of November. Here are the complete details of the rituals for four days
