University freshers are being urged to include a Meningitis jab on their essential student checklist after a rapid increase in cases. Survivor Jemma Pressman is trying to spread the word and encourage students to get vaccinated.
Jemma contracted Meningitis Y when she was a second year law student at Leicester University. She was rushed to A&E with severe swelling on her brain and was put in an induced coma. She will probably never regain all the movement in her left side.
