Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman chairs the 55th GST Council meeting on Saturday. As per sources, the council has approved 18% GST on the sale of used cars and EVs from 12% earlier. Ready-to-eat popcorn is also set to attract 5% GST, while packaged and labelled ones will attract 12% GST. GST rate on food delivery platforms will likely be lowered from 18% with input tax credit (ITC) to 5% without ITC.
