The fires burning in the Amazon rainforest coudl be seen in dramatic aerial images on Tuesday, August 27 in Brazil.
The record number of fires are unlikely to die despite rainfall expected through Sept. 10.
Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, however, said Tuesday he wants French President Emmanuel Macron to withdraw the "insults" made against him before he would consider accepting the US$20 million offer from G7 nations to help fight the fires.
