The green Speaker is the one playing. You will hear mono-sound on the left channel, then the right channel. The last example plays the same mono sound in stereo channels.
You can check your Headphones (Kopfhörer) or your speakers (Lautsprecher). This ist thought of being useful for 2.0 or 2.1.
