A cisco device (router, switch, bridge) may not be able to boot up after an IOS upgrade because there simply isn't enough onboard memory (RAM) to support the IOS. This symptom (crashing) is easily confused with corrupt software or a bad module (WIC, GBIC, T-1 CSU).
In this video, I have an 1841 router that will not boot up because there is not enough native RAM to support the IOS 15. (only has 128mb).
