NSS Annual Winter Camp Concludes in GDC Surankote

A week long NSS camp in GDC Surankote concluded today by organising a rally in connection with Drug De-Addiction awareness programme. The rally was formally flagged off by Police and tehsil civil administration. Station House officer Surankote Mr Anil Sharma accompanied the rally from Potha to GDC Surankote with all possible measures. Police extended full cooperation in the Conduct of this important rally. More than hundred NSS Volunteers have actively participated in the rally with posters and Drug De-Addiction slogans. Members of Municipal Committee, sarpanches and prominent citizens of the area also participated in the rally and encouraged the young NSS Volunteers to organise similar programmes for a complete eradication of this evil from the society.
The NSS Volunteers have organised extension lectures on diverse issues like The problems of Dowry System, Drug De- Addiction, fundamental rights and duties in Indian Constitution, social service, Beti Bachao Beti Padaho, Gender Sensitization, Personality Development and communication skills, Environment Pollution, Road Safety measures, etc. In addition to these programmes, the NSS Volunteers also worked wholeheartedly in the college beautification and face lift. This year Village Mirza Mode, Surankote was adopted by the NSS unit of the college and left no stone unturned in making the inhabitants aware about the maintenance of cleanliness and good hygienic conditions in their surroundings. The entire camp was organised under the overall supervision of Prof. Mussaraf Hussain Shah, Principal of the college. Dr Syed Wajahat Hussain, NSS Programme Officer of the college thanked all the NSS Volunteers, civil and Police Administration, Media Persons and college Teaching and Non-teaching Staff for their cooperation in the conduct of NSS regular and extension activities. The rally was Efficiently managed by Dr Pervaiz Hussain, NCC Officer of the college, Mr. Zahied Sharief, Physical Director, Prof. Raiz Ahmed, HoD Mathematics, Dr Mussarat Jabeen, HoD Arabic and Dr Sarfraz Hussain Mir, HoD History. The rally was officially culminated in the College Campus with a Valedictory address by Dr Syed Wajahat Hussain. The camp concluded with special prayers for communal harmony, brotherhood and National integration.
