As the year comes to an end, facing another year of doing a part-time PhD is not easy at all. The journey is filled with challenges, and it's important to acknowledge the difficulty that comes with balancing work and study. One year ago, I found myself dreading the thought of embarking on yet another year of working full-time while simultaneously trying to wrap up my lengthy 8-year PhD journey. This period was incredibly stressful and overwhelming, as I struggled to manage my time effectively between my job and my studies. Having finally finished this massive project, which has consumed so much of my life and energy, I truly wish someone had told me these valuable insights and lessons along the way. Reflecting on my experiences, I believe sharing these tips could help others who are in similar situations and may be feeling lost or uncertain about their own academic paths.
