In today’s video, I’m going to show you how to keep your laptop on, even when you close the lid.
By default in Windows, when you close your laptop’s lid, it’ll go to sleep. This can be frustrating, as a lot of people like to keep their laptop running when the lid is closed, especially if you’re connecting your laptop to a monitor or TV, and you want to close it’s lid.
*To stop your laptop from sleeping when you close its lid:*
1. Go into the Windows search bar, and type in “Sleep settings”, and click on the “Power and sleep settings” result.
2. A Windows dialog window will now be displayed, showing power and sleep options.
3. Click on the “Additional power settings” link on the right.
4. A “Power options” dialog window will now display.
5. Now click on the option for “Choose what closing the lid does”.
6. A system settings dialog window will now appear.
7. From this dialog window, you can define what happens when you close the lid of your laptop, even if it’s running directly from the battery, or charging.
8. To stop your laptop from sleeping when you close its lid, change the “Sleep” option to “Do Nothing”.
9. Now click on the “Save changes” button.
10. Now, when you close the lid of your laptop, nothing will happen, and your computer will still be running.
