The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle on fire in the 12900 block of West Burbank Boulevard.
While crews were responding, the call was upgraded to a structure fire. Upon arrival, they found several cars in a carport on fire.
Firefighters had difficulty extinguishing the flames due to compromised fuel tanks adding fuel to the fire.
The carport eventually collapsed on top of the burning vehicles; six cars and one motorcycle were destroyed in the blaze.
At least one unit in an adjacent apartment suffered smoke damage. The residents of that unit and possibly others will be displaced due to the fire.
One woman was seen being evaluated by firefighters but was not taken to the hospital.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
Firefighters could be heard saying the fire was suspicious, given the number of cars involved and the time and location of the fire.
