The lowest value that can be purchased with one Nepalese rupee is one hundred paisa. The Nepal Rastra Bank, which serves as the central bank for the country, is in charge of overseeing the production of brand new Nepalese rupees. It is common practise to denote the NPR with Rs; however, Rp is also a suitable representation.vThere is a fixed exchange rate between the Nepalese franc (NPR) and the Indian rupee (INR), which is 1.6 NPR for every 1 INR. The Nepalese rupee symbol is रु.



The NPR has, up until this point in time, issued coins with face values of 1, 5, 10, 25, and 50 paisa each. Coins of 1, 2, 5, and 10 rupees are also considered valid tender. There are banknotes available for denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500, and 1,000 rupees.
