Charlotte recently saw its coldest morning of the season and more freezes are coming. Chris Mulcahy explains why frost doesn't always form when it's cold outside.
First Warn Storm Team meteorologist Chris Mulcahy says for frost to form, you need the 3 C's:
-Cold conditions
-Clear skies
-Calm winds
When skies are clear, the daily heating quickly escapes to the atmosphere. When it's cloudy, the sky acts like a blanket, keeping that warm air closer to the ground.
