My Ficus religiosa was in decline the last couple of years, I lost many branches and the growth was weak. Today I start a major reset of the tree with the goal to get it back on track to becoming a nice bonsai.
In part one, I do some major branch pruning and then begin some extensive root work!!
The Ficus religiosa or sacred fig is a species native to the Indian subcontinent and Indochina that belongs to Moraceae, the fig or mulberry family. It is also known as the bodhi tree, peepul tree, peepal tree, pipala tree or ashvattha tree.
