Stannah offers a retractable rail for straight staircases that raises and lowers automatically as the chair rides up and down the stairs. This feature is particularly important when there’s an obstacle at the bottom of the stairs, such as a doorway or passageway, that could cause a tripping hazard. When the retractable rail is in motion, it warns you both visually and audibly with a small flashing light and beeping sound. Options are available for our curved rails as well.
