Cream Oil used to strengthen and repair dry brittle hair. May be used on the skin as well to soften and moisten the skin without a greasy feel. You can use this product on any hair type for softness, added protection from dryness and to stop breakage in its tracks.
This product was created for my daughter and is safe to use on babies over 4 months old as long as they have no allergy to coconut, aloe, jojoba or avocado. Use this product while your hair is still damp before using any other product. Shampoo, condition and apply Flourish on wet or damp hair from mid to ends. Then continue to style as usual using what whatever products you choose.
If you are doing two strand twists we recommend dipping two fingers into the Flourish and rubbing into the hands to emulsify it first. Then apply to the hair by squeezing and pulling from mid to ends, really focusing on the dry parts of the hair. Then, section the hair off and follow with a moisture cream, hair lotion, milk or leave in. You can even use a custard as well. Apply the styling product to the hands the same way you did the Flourish, then pull through the hair making sure to saturate the section well. Then start twisting. This goes the same for flat twisting or even plaiting. You may even want to hit the ends again with Flourish for a little added moisture and protection.
We love Flourish on all styles except Washngo's on tighter textures of hair. Using Flourish with that style will just lessen the amount of time your style will last. Oils and creams typically over soften the hair and that leads to volume and frizz if the hair is left out.
If you are using on a bun, ponytail or puff, apply a generous amount of Flourish on wet or damp hair and brush through. After it's distributed you will then apply whatever other product you are using for your style. We recommend with buns, ponytails or puffs that you make sure to dry the hair and not leave it wet while in the style because this can lead to protein deficiency and stretched curls!
Dry the hair after styling, then every 4 days just take down, mist with a leave in spray like Mizani and apply a fingertip of flourish then put back up. Don't go more than 10 days without washing!
If you are using for your baby, mist the hair all over, apply the Flourish to your hands first then pull through their entire head really focusing on the crown because that part becomes dry the quickest and falls out! Then apply a hair lotion, milk or light leave in cream on top of the flourish in the same manner. Brush through then leave the hair alone or if the hair and scalp are ready you can do little plaits, soft ponytails or anything that won't put a lot of tension on the hair or scalp. Shampoo every 4-7 days with shampoo and conditioner then repeat the process. If you are leaving your baby's hair out and curly, we recommend misting the hair with water at night before bed and apply a fingertip of Flourish mixed in the hand with a little leave in and rubbing through the hair, especially the back and crown! Then in the morning mist with water just to reset the curls and keep them from compacting to the head.
If you are using for a child, same applies. Shampoo, condition and while the hair is still damp, run flourish through the hair then proceed to styling with whatever product of your choice. You will learn what amount of Flourish to add to your regimen based on how your hair responds.
If you are using Flourish for refreshing a natural style you can apply Flourish to the hands and rub together with a spray of leave in or a dab of hair milk, then squeeze into the twists/braids focusing on the mid to ends where the hair tends to lose moisture the quickest. This also applies to wearing knotless, box braids and any style with added hair.
Flourish is also light and absorbent enough to use on your silk press to maintain the ends and fight against heat damaged ends. If your hair is fine I don't recommend because it can make your hair too flat, but if you have thicker, more coarse hair then a literal tip of finger of Flourish emulsified into the hands and focused primarily on the ends before setting for bed will keep those ends protected and help fight against humidity.
Other than the uses for hair you can certainly use on a damp beard for softness and growth, and it can be used on the skin or mixed with your favorite lotion for an added boost of moisture.
