The Codex Vaticanus is a Greek biblical manuscript which originally contained the New Testament and almost all of the Septuagint. Paleographic analysis suggests it was created in the 4th century, scholars are divided as to its origin likely either Alexandra, Caesarea, or Rome. It is an Uncial and is written on large sheets of vellum. It is the starting point for a lot a modern text critical editions. which are the bases for many modern translations of the New Testament. It currently resides at the Vatican Library.
