The law - Movie Island of Dr Moreau, what is the law scene. "The Island of Dr. Moreau" (1977) starring Burt Lancaster, Michael York, Nigel Davenport, Barbara Carrera, and Richard Basehart. Based on H. G. Well's 1896 novel of the same name. After many days at sea, Andrew Braddock (York), a shipwreck survivor, arrive upon the island of Dr. Moreau (Lancaster). Braddock finds his contacts with the island natives increasingly disturbing, for they are not like any men he has ever seen. Eventually, he learns that these "men" are in fact experimental reconstructions from wild animals made by a particularly sinister scientist, Dr. Moreau.
In this scene, Braddock enters a cave inhabited by the "men" of the island, who are less than friendly. He is confronted by the Sayer of the Law (Basehart), who begins to indoctrinate him into their society.
