Your 5 p.m. Northeast Ohio weather forecast for Jan. 26, 2023: A Winter Weather Advisory continues overnight for Ashtabula, Lake, Geauga, and Cuyahoga Counties as lake effect snow continues to push through northeast Ohio. It's not just the snowbelt seeing the snow as widespread snow showers have also been flying around all over the state as an upper-level impulse zips through the area.
For tonight, our snows should concentrate more on our snowbelt counties with mainly cloudy skies elsewhere. We'll drop into the 20s tonight for lows. In terms of snow accumulation, we'll be looking at a general 2-4 additional inches of snow in our Winter Weather Advisory counties with lighter amounts elsewhere.
Lake effect will come to an end Friday as drier air moves in. Our temps will remain seasonably chilly in the low to mid 30s. Another round of snow will zip through with a clipper system (really our first of the year!) in the afternoon and evening. A quick half inch to an inch can be expected with scattered snow showers lingering through Friday night. Winds will become gusty as well later Friday.
