make sure you follow the installation instructions exact. also don't forget to download the "ultimate software" from companies webpage. a restart of computer is highly suggested. once installed correctly the controller should be displayed as Xbox controller under add/remove device in Windows.
I'm using win8.1, worked right out of the box. hassle free. also is wireless via Bluetooth, and works with android devices
