This exclusive ClimatePartner carbon offset project is the first project in Colombia to receive the Gold Standard certification. The Santander brickyard in Soacha is the only one in the region using biomass to fire the kilns. Its owner, Miguel Diaz, has converted his business so that it solely operates on modern, energy-efficient kilns powered by up to 80 percent renewable biomass. This way, the brickyard saves approximately 18,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
