Rep. George Santos (R-NY) pleaded not guilty Wednesday to 13 federal charges, including wire fraud, money laundering, theft of public funds, and making false statements to the U.S. House of Representatives.
Santos, who has previously come under fire for his multiple personal and professional life fabrications, called the Justice Department's indictment a 'witch hunt' while leaving a NY federal court. Santos also said he will not resign and still plans to run for re-election.
