The win sees the PM in number 19 for another five years with a sizeable majority, and an ability to shape Brexit and the future of the United Kingdom.
For Jeremy Corbyn, a defeat of shattering proportions that leads to what he has called a "process of reflection" and, then, a new Labour leader.
There will have to be a new leader for the Lib Dems too, after Jo Swinson lost her seat.
The SNP meanwhile surged again - and put independence back on the agenda.
