We finally take the 6.5 creedmoor Tikka T3x Tac A1 out to the range to get the rifle zero'd and do some first shots. The rifle was initially zero'd with a laser 6.5 cartridge to get us on paper.

Our shooter has very little training and this is first time shooting a bolt action gun as begins shooting PRS.
Our tikka is outfitted as follows:
Atlast Bipod - Hawk Hill Custom feet
Vortex Viper PST Gen II 5-25 MRAD scope
VG6 Lambda PRS65
Trigger adjusted to lowest poundage
The initial ammo we used was Hornady ELD Match 140 grain.
The first shot was about a mil low and two mils right.
On the second shot I adjusted too far to the left and went the totally wrong direction on elevation. Resulting in being 0.5 mils left and 2 mils down.
The third shot I noticed my error and got the elevation fixed but still .2 mils right.
Then we shot our first 3 shot group and got a 0.68" (0.65 MOA) group on the very first grouping
We also tried the Sellier & Bellot 6.5 Creedmoor 140 grain FMJs and our first 3 shot group was 0.61" (0.58 MOA).
The Tikka t3x tac a1 was able to reach out to the 200 and 300 yard gongs with ease. This gun is designed for much longer ranges but having a novice shoot the rifle for the first time with half MOA groups was absolutely amazing.
