I picked up a 2001 Corvette Z06 with 146K miles. The car checked out great when I inspected it. Started up with no problems several times. No trouble codes. The next morning after bringing it home, the car wouldn't start. Everything turned on when I rotated the key to the ON position but it went dead when I attempted to start the car. No cranking, no clicking, no anything. The battery was brand new and fully charged. There were no codes pointing to a problem. This continued for several attempts over several days.
After a bit of research, I decided to pull the ignition switch and do some testing with a multimeter. In doing so, I found that one of the connections in the switch was failing. This video covers the testing of the switch, disassembly, and repair. This is not difficult to do at all.
