An excerpt from the nonfiction book "Soonish" - which is a collection of emerging or near-future technologies that may exist during your lifetime. This chapter is the final piece in the "graveyard" section of the book - where the authors decided it was not worth including the subjects in the 'main' part of the book, either because of improbability, lack of basis or time frame. The authors are Kelly Weinersmith and Zach Weinersmith (from Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal comics).
This is a little bit different from everything I've done so far but "Soonish" is hands-down the funniest book I've read in years; with the added benefit of being informative on real science and technology; I implore you to pick up a copy. For me it rekindled the sense of wonder I had as a youth learning about science, space, medicine and the cosmos in general. There's also comics!
