SV. outside Mansion House small boys putting money into appeal box marked "The Lord Mayor of London's National Hungarian and Central European Relief Fund". The boys walk away. CU. The sign over the box, pan to a man arriving with mail as he makes for the doorway. GV. Tables of girls sorting and checking mail. Lord Mayor talking to one of the girls in foreground. CU. The Lord Mayor holding papers and talking to the girls. SV. Man brings mail and puts it on a table. SV. Three girls counting money and checking through letters. CU. Girl checking, pan along table showing money all over it. Lord Mayor talking and smiling with girl who operates adding machine as he looks at the total. CU. Pan along the table full of postal order cheques and other donations. CU. Cheque for £25,000. Laying on top of it is a letter with six sixpenny stamps totalling 3/- sent by someone else. CU. Letter from small child with coins clipped to letter. Letter says "To all the lost children from my own money box" followed by kisses at the bottom of the letter. This is from Rodney who is 6 years old. CU. Another letter with two shillings clipped on it reading to "My Lord Mayor I would like to give this 2/- from my pocket money for the Hungarian Relieve Fund". GV. Interior, Lord Mayor walks around watching the good work go on.
