Among the items that were stolen from the royal tombs, are some beautiful earthenware artifacts, which had a shimmering glaze applied to them. Experts at the time had no idea what they were seeing, they didn’t have a name for it. Because of its colorful designs and the fact that it was unearthed in Tang burial grounds, it is named Tang sancai.
