The Babrra massacre occurred on 12 August 1948 in the Charsadda District of the North-West Frontier Province (now Khyber Pukhtunkhwa) of Pakistan, when unarmed members of the Khudai Khidmatgar movement on the orders of the then Chief Minister Khan Abdul Qayyum Khan.The protest was against the promulgation of Public Safety Ordinance by the provincial governor and the resulting arrests of Khudai Khidmatgar leaders and confiscations of property. Different sources state various numbers of people killed in this massacre, some as high as 600. Even larger numbers were injured
