The Buddha sits peacefully with his right hand extended down towards the ground in the bhumisparsha mudra, also know as the earth touching or earth witness mudra. His left hand rests in his lap in the dhyana mudra; a pose of mediation. The Buddha is seated on a double lotus base in the half lotus seated position or the ardha padmasana. The base sits on three legs that elevate the base off the ground. His eyes are down cast in deep thought. There is a urna or third eye on his forehead which denotes higher consciousness and a flame finial that arises from his head showing the Buddha to be of an elevated consciousness.
