Despite being a clear and sunny Sunday, the winds aloft were 30+ knots. Although it was blustery and turbulent, at ground level it was between 9 and 12 knots. We decided to fly to Sandown and visit the beach, perhaps for the last time this winter. Despite arriving at lunch time, there were no aircraft parked at Sandown... after battling through my most challenging and turbulent landing to date, I now understand why!
