I'll never forget when a parent said to me, "The teachers never send any projects home. My daughter isn't learning anything! They aren't doing anything!" Um...quite the opposite, ma'am! Lots of projects being sent home - especially teacher-based projects rather than child-directed - are not signs indicating whether learning and developmentally appropriate activities are happening at your child's preschool or childcare. Process over product!
