To celebrate ‘World Sleep Day’ on 19th March 2021, music composer Nina Sari
Ishak has released her debut digital album entitled ‘Music for Sleeping: Lelap’, which means deep sleep in Bahasa Indonesia. This special album houses all of Nina’s original work with 10 beautifully crafted piano instrumental solo songs.

The album is centered around the theme of rest and lullabies, by focusing on stages of the sleep cycle.

“The idea of creating this album came to me, when I heard many friends around me complain about insomnia and having difficulty sleeping. After doing some research, I found that insomnia is usually closely linked to stress, depression, loneliness and mental health issues. As rest and good sleep is vital for our overall health. It inspired me to help by using music and poetry to create this album”, says Nina as her inspiration behind this project.

‘Lelap’ (Deep Sleep) was also released as a physical product in the form of a portable sleeping lamp and bluetooth speaker. The lamp is fully equipped with an alarm and soothing lights to aid listeners in their quest for a good night’s rest. By simply pressing play, listeners can enjoy the soothing music of ‘Lelap’ in the comforts of their bedrooms and homes.

With this project, Nina hopes that listeners will get a sense of calm and peace and enjoy beautiful dreams in their sleep when listening to this album. To help more people enjoy a good night’s sleep, ‘Lelap’ will be available on all digital platforms starting on the 19th March 2021.
