Effective Monday, February 20, 2023, applicants can walk-in to submit their passports and collect their decision envelopes (without a prior appointment) from Monday-Friday between 8:30 to 14:00 hrs at the Visa Application Centre in Colombo.

One way courier service for return of passports will continue as an option. (Steps Below)

You have to send your Passport to the Canadian HC in Colombo via VFS. So, what you should do is courier your passport along with the documents mentioned here. Unfortunately, VFS won’t accept in-person handovers so you have to do it through courier. ( We used Pronto [ Ссылка ] ).

1. When you get PPR it’s better to send an email to VFS saying that you want to send your passport (eg: “I received my passport request recently. Could you please send me the procedure and relevant documents and forms that I have to submit along with my PP?”). Then they will reply to you within a short time mentioning the procedure.

2. Then you have to get a bank draft (amounts are mentioned in your reply email) in favour of “VFS Lanka Private Limited”. This can be done in any bank which has your savings account.

3. Make sure to fill out the VFS consent form (they will send this in the reply email). Make sure to write your name according to your PP.

4. There’s no specific form to send your contact information. So, you can either write or print your contact information (Name, Mobile NO, email address, home address) on a white A4 sheet.

5. Write your address clearly with your mobile phone number in 4. Self-addressed return courier envelope.

6. Put all the required documents in and seal the envelope. Then write the address (The Manager, Canada visa application center,4 1/1, Geethanjali Place, Colombo-03, Sri Lanka) and your address.

7. Then you can hand over this to the courier service. (We used Pronto. They had an express one-day courier service too).

8. It’s better to call the courier service and confirm that they have delivered your package to VFS. (Tracking number will be printed in the invoice)

9. When VFS send your PP to the IRCC Colombo office they will update you via email.

10. VFS will send your PP as soon as possible if there are no issues with your documents.
