How does your tongue compare to that of a giraffe? We're going to assume it's shorter! But just how much shorter is it? Ask an adult friend or family member to help you measure the length of your tongue. When you're finished, compare the length of your tongue to that of an average giraffe. If you can, calculate how much longer a giraffe's tongue is as a percentage. If you've ever seen a picture of a giraffe's tongue, you know it's a dark blue or purple color. What color is your tongue? Ask an adult friend or family member to take you to the store to get a dark blue or purple sucker that will turn your tongue a darker color when you eat it. Have fun pretending to be a giraffe!
