From the studios of top jewellery designer, Suhani Pittie came the "Child of Eden" collection which dazzled the audience at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2012. The intricacy and craftsmanship of the jewellery was unbelievable as reflections of the Bidri star print and the Chand Bali filigree was visualised in the gorgeous pieces.
Using nature as her motifs, Suhani had delicate leaves, entwining vines, roses, and the hint of a graceful swan's wing, the elegant peacock, the beak of the Hornbill and the beauty of the spiral rivet.
Presenting a complete jewel box of items, Suhani offered to the modern woman a choice of cuffs, bangles, collar bands, neck pieces, belts, earrings and even unconventional offerings like head bands, anklets, brooches, bags and hair bands.
The peacock inspired neckpiece, the Hornbill beak necklace with filigree fans and the scroll neckpiece with chains were visually arresting in their beauty. The use of rivets as a design element was unconventional and the entwining vines and the Bidri print appeared selectively in different parts of the jewellery.
The Hasli got a modern twist with a Bidri print bow or a trellis with rose and filigree. Adding some more drama were the spiral neckpiece with Indian parrot and wire cuffs that were delicately elegant.
Working with plated copper, steel and cord, the jewellery by Suhani Pittie created exotic drama and will surely make a strong fashion statement for wearers around the world.
