Belarusian composer Sergey Khvoshchinsky's arrangement of this popular Belarusian folksong was composed to allow women's choirs around the world to show solidarity with the people of Belarus in this time of political strife. The Saint Mary's College Women's Choir performs under the direction of Nancy Menk, with soloist Marina Staiger, on May 6, 2021 at O'Laughlin Auditorium on the Saint Mary's College campus.
