It’s no secret that the Blue Lagoon in Comino Island is one of the most beautiful sites to visit on your trip to Malta, but unfortunately, many leave feeling disappointed! It’s either too many people, too much trash or nothing else to do apart from swimming…or all of the above… Here’s what you can do to avoid disappointment when visiting: Avoid visiting in peak summer months (unless you have no other option, then read the following). Visit first thing in the morning. The first ferry from Cirkewwa leaves at 8.30am. Do not stay in Blue Lagoon. There are other beaches in Comino such as Crystal Lagoon, San Niklaw and Santa Marija Bay. Comino is one of the best places to snorkel so don’t forget to take a mask with you! This will surely keep you entertained. If you’re visiting outside of peak summer months, go on a hike and you’ll discover some of the most beautiful spots on the island. Another option is to rent a boat. This will definitely cost you much more but you can explore the coast much more leisurely. A more budget friendly option is to go on a kayaking tour.
