At least six people have been killed during anti-government protests in the Democratic Republic of Congo. According to the United Nations, police fired tear gas to disperse a banned protest against President Joseph Kabila, organised by the Catholic Church on Sunday. Protesters are demanding that Kabila - whose term of office expired more than a year ago - should step down. Similar demonstrations three weeks ago led to a number of deaths. The UN peacekeeping mission, MONUSCO, says 94 people were arrested across the county. The widespread marches had been called for by the country's Catholic Church, which appealed for a large but peaceful demonstration
