Rotterdam in the Netherlands is known as Europe's biggest port city. Rotterdam was also 100% destroyed during wwii and thus had to be rebuilt. It was rebuilt in a way the makes it unique to Europe. While most European capitals have traditional architecture of some sort, Rotterdam seems like a city out of a cartoon. The buildings are so quirky.
You can spend a full day walking around admiring the architecture. You will notice nothing makes sense architecture wise, there is no trend or pattern simply each individual architect designs the building the way he/she. This spells out a recipe for complete artistic control and expression of the architect and it is what we will see on this tour of the historic city in the Netherlands.
