As promised during this unprecedented lock down in the uk we are going to use the time to get some of my long since forgotten stationary engines running!
Today we look at the BSA power unit. The engine is a 50cc BSA coupled to a 12-24 volt DC generator. These would have been used to rapidly charge flat batteries in the field. Unfortunately when it was last run it appears some wiring melted on the electric start side of the unit. With no access to suppliers this repair will have to wait.
The engine needs a good carb clean and also a new crankcase gasket as it had lost all its oil in the 7 year lay up!
