Sock Gnomes are cute little gnomes that end up being 14”-16” in height. They make perfect fall decor items or Christmas gifts for family and friends. They are SO ADORABLE and can be totally personalized with clothing items or additional embellishments. These sock gnomes are very high quality and can be used from year to year.
The process to make these sock gnomes is pretty straightforward, but if you are not familiar with them then I take you through each step:
There are the 8 steps to make the adorable sock gnomes:
Step 1: Cut your sock into a 7-8" tube shape.
Step 2: Turn your sock inside out and sew up one end. Cinch up the thread and tie it off. Turn right side out (skip if using the toe portion of the sock).
Step 3: Fill your gnome body with rice and polyfil.
Step 4: Close off the top portion of your body with a rubber band.
Step 5: Using the pattern cut out your hat and beard.
Step 6: Sew or hot glue your hat together.
Step 7: Fill your hat with polyfil and a wood skewer or wire.
Step 8: Hot glue your beard, nose and hat in place.
That’s it! And now you can embellish and personalize your gnome however you like!
These sock gnomes are super inexpensive and you can get 4 gnomes out of one pair of long boot socks.
