Photographs of notorious Nazi war criminals taken during their detainment at the end of the Second World War have surfaced among the belongings of a British Spitfire pilot. One of those in the black-and-white photos is a smirking Franz Hossler (circled right) - a commander at Auschwitz concentration camp before becoming deputy commandant of Bergen-Belsen. Another prominent SS guard in the pictures is Herta Bothe (left)/ The previously unseen pictures were stored in a suitcase by Flight Lieutenant Keith Parfitt among other War memorabilia and were recently discovered by his relatives. They are due to be auctioned on Saturday.
