Elder and Spiritual Leader Phil Lane Jr. , Ihanktowan Dakota, and Chickasaw Nations, resolutely and firmly stated, " There is no Materialistic Force in Heaven or Earth that will finally withstand the Sacred Prophecies of the Seventh Generation!"
Joining Brother Phil was Chief Arvol Looking Horse, 19th Generation Keeper of the White Buffalo Calf Pipe, his Beloved Partner, Paula Horn, and Daughter, Gracie. This Sacred Ceremony at Santa Monica Pier honored the Oceti Sakowin 7th Generation Runners, at the Santa Monica Pier, November 21, 2016.
Following this Sacred Ceremony, Mayan Elder and Spiritual Leader Tata Pedro and Brother Phil, on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, raised the Global Torch of Compassion and called for a Global Wopida Ceremony.
The Global Torch of Compassion was ignited by HH Sheikh Abdul Aziz, Brother Phil and representatives of the Blue Youth Initiative at Marrakesh, Morocco, November 7, 2016 at the UN COP 22, Global Climate Change Conference. The Blue Youth Initiative is composed of 10,000 young people in 18 Nations. It is focused on Protecting the Waters of Mother Earth.
The FIrst Global Wopida Ceremony will commence on World Human Rights Day, December 10, 2016, beginning virtually at Standing Rock, followed Live-Stream from Cancun, Mexico, with Indigenous representatives across the Americas at the UN Global COP on Biodiversity. Other Global Wopida Ceremonies will follow, culminating on World Peace and Prayer Day, June 21, 2017.
The word Wopida in the Dakota Language means Thanksgiving and Gratitude, for everything the Great Spirit gives us, great and small, graceful or challenging!
