The Soyuz Microphones 1973 Microphone is a high-end yet affordable FET microphone that features a handmade capsule and world-class build quality. Like the other mics in the Soyuz family, the 1973 is neither a copy nor a clone but rather a modern classic! The 1973 was developed and built in the old fashioned way: in-house with maximum attention to detail and no corners cut. The 1973 features a transformerless design and has the lowest self-noise of any of our microphones. Nonetheless, it retains what many people call "the Soyuz Sound," with lows that are present but not boomy, a midrange that’s forward but not boxy, and a high end that’s open and airy without being harsh.
