(15 May 2020) Towns along the Jersey Shore began a partial easing of restrictions on businesses by opening beaches on Friday in a phased effort to restart their local economies.
Some shore municipalities, like Seaside Heights, have gotten ahead of the game.
Mayor Anthony Vaz announced a two-phase plan to re-open the beach and boardwalk that would be in effect through June 30 amid coronavirus concerns.
Phase 1 of the reopening began on Friday and will last through May 22.
Five access points to the boardwalk and beach will be open between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Both areas will be cleared after 5 p.m.
The pandemic restrictions were introduced to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.
