David Gems outlines a universal theory of aging. This theory hypothesizes that aging is caused by evolutionarily conserved pathways found in all organisms. Gems furthermore hypothesizes that the reproductive death of the Pacific salmon and perhaps even the C. Elegans is just one extreme of an aging pathway that affects iteroparous organisms as well. Gems and the audience discussed why there would be such evolutionarily conserved aging pathways on April 22 at Curing Aging 2023.
